Due to rising crude oil prices in the international market due to the Russia-Ukraine war, oil companies are under pressure to increase the prices of petrol and diesel. In such a situation, in the coming days, petrol and diesel can be expensive by up to Rs 20 per.

When you put petrol worth 100 rupees in your car, then 52 rupees out of this goes into the government's pocket as tax. In Maharashtra, a maximum of Rs 52.50 (out of Rs 100) is collected as tax. On the other hand, if you fill petrol worth Rs 100 in Delhi, then out of this Rs 45.3 goes to the government.
