Delhi Weather: Capital covered in fog, AQI recorded at 142

Delhi was seen covered with a blanket of fog on Thursday morning due to the high humidity level in the air and drop in mercury. Visibility levels from roads to airstrips are getting record low. A similar sight of fog was seen at many places in NCR as well.

It is forecast that the wind speed is likely to increase from January 15 onwards. Because of this, further improvement can be recorded in the quality of Delhi-NCR. Light pollution is being recorded due to the moderate wind speed and the mixing height being less than one kilometer. 142 AQI was recorded this morning.

Earlier on Wednesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 18.1 degrees Celsius, two below normal, and the minimum temperature was recorded at one 8.2 degrees Celsius above normal. The sun came out in the afternoon but, because of the sun hiding behind the clouds, again and again, there was not much respite from the winter. As the evening approached, the feeling of severe cold had increased due to the chilly winds. In such a situation, due to the outbreak of corona infection and cold, people remained in bed in their homes. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's AQI stood at 191 on Wednesday. Apart from this, 196 in Faridabad, 194 in Ghaziabad, 179 in Greater Noida, 138 in Gurugram, and 152 in Noida were recorded.
