Double terror in Afghanistan: Taliban will kill or starve; Prisoners are running the jail, people are forced to sell household items

Afghanistan is going through a severe humanitarian crisis. The situation is that the prisoners are running the jail and people are compelled to sell the essential items of their house to run the house. Women's human rights activist Khadija Ahmed says that I know many families who sold their furniture and other items to earn some money. Such scenes are common in the markets of Kabul's Chaman-e-Hojri, Mazar-e-Sharif.

 

These markets are full of refrigerators, cushions, fans, pillows, blankets, silverware, curtains, bedding, mattresses, cookware, and shelves. Khadija says people are scared of two fears. The first is that the Taliban will kill them and the second is that hunger will kill them. As of now, there is no check and balance system in the country to monitor price hikes.

 

The United Nations has warned that more than 97% of the Afghan population could reach below the poverty line by the middle of 2022. On the other hand, the Taliban hopes that China and Russia will make up for the reduction in economic aid from other countries. But so far both the countries are calm on this issue.

 

Order to leave military families home, people on the road in protest

The Taliban have ordered 3000 military families settled in Zara Farka, Kandahar, to leave their homes. Thousands of people marched in protest. They say that they will not leave the house till their death. More than 10,000 people live here, many of them widows or wives of soldiers who have been killed or injured in action against the Taliban in 20 years.

 

Here one out of every three people is facing starvation

There are long queues outside ration distribution centers in different cities. The UN estimates that 1 in 3 Afghans is facing starvation. At present 50% of the population is below the poverty line and this country was dependent on foreign aid. Most of the NGOs in western countries are now closed. Mir Wali, a farmer living in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif, says that we are facing drought for the last two years. Now we have nothing to eat.

 

Speculation due to non-appearance of Akhundzada and Baradar

The two senior Taliban leaders have not been seen for a long time. Journalists and common people are asking whether the supreme leader of the Taliban Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada and Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ali Baradar is alive? Akhundzada has not been seen since the Taliban took over. There are also rumors that Mulla Baradar has been killed or seriously injured in a dispute over the division of ministries.

 

Taliban kills 20 innocent people in Panjshir

The Taliban have killed 20 innocent people in Panjshir. Locals say that there was also a shopkeeper in it. He said that he is a poor shopkeeper and he has nothing to do with war. He was arrested by Taliban fighters for selling the SIM and then murdered and the body was thrown outside his house. In another video, Taliban militants are seen firing bullets at a person involved in Panjshir's Northern Alliance.
