US officials said need to hold Pakistan PM Imran Khan accountable for Taliban

US Retired General HR McMaster has said that Pakistan's PM Imran Khan needs to be held accountable since the Taliban's capture of Kabul. He has said that it is wrong to think that the money being sent to Afghanistan for humanitarian purposes will reach the common people. The Taliban will further strengthen themselves with that money and emerge as a bigger threat to the world. We are indeed facing an extraordinary dilemma that it will be difficult for us to mitigate the humanitarian crisis without empowering the Taliban.

McMaster has said that I do not think that Pakistan should be given any kind of help. Pakistan has played from both sides. Pakistan should face its attitude which has consequences. Let us tell you that during the Donald Trump administration itself, America had stopped all security assistance to Pakistan. The Joe Biden administration also has yet to resume security cooperation.

McMaster has said that the Taliban, backed by the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI, recaptured Afghanistan. He has further said that I think we should hold Imran Khan responsible for the Taliban occupation of Kabul. We should not send a single penny to Pakistan. Pakistan should face isolation for supporting jihadi terrorists. Organizations like the Pakistan-based Haqqani Network, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Taliban are a threat to humanity.

Congressman Bill Keating said that Pakistan remains a problem and the US needs to assess it. They have called for the removal of Pakistan as a major non-NATO ally. We should not forget that Pakistan is the first country that recognized Taliban rule in 1996. Pakistan has consistently helped the Taliban in every way. Our relations with Pakistan can affect relations with India. Ryan Crocker, former US ambassador to Pakistan, has admitted that Pakistan has acted against the US in some cases while supporting the Taliban.
