Drugs worth 120 crores seized in Mumbai: Former Air India pilot involved in smuggling, 6 people arrested so far

The Narcotics Control Bureau on Friday seized 60 kg of mephedrone drugs worth about Rs 120 crore from a godown in Mumbai. According to media reports, so far 6 people have been arrested in this case. Two people are from Air India, including a former pilot Sohail Ghaffar. Sohail had quit the job a few years back citing health reasons. Agency officials said that the same drug cartel has sold about 225 kg of mephedrone drug in the market. Out of this, 60 kg of drugs were seized.

 

Mumbai drugs case related to Gujarat drug case

According to the police, they are connected to some big network. Four people were arrested this week for drug smuggling in Gujarat's Jamnagar. Mumbai drug busted after naval intelligence in Jamnagar. Now the connection of the same case is also being told related to this case.

Illegal goods worth more than Rs 100 crore were seized at two major airports of the country on Thursday. In these, 7 watches were recovered from the smugglers from Dubai by the Customs Department from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi. Their cost was 28 crores. One of these watches was from Jacob & Co. It was studded with diamonds. Its cost was 27 crores. On the other hand, 16 kg of heroin was seized at the Mumbai airport. Its cost was said to be around Rs 80 crore.

In Gujarat, in April, 90 kg of heroin was seized in a joint operation by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). Its price in the international market was said to be around Rs 450 crore. This cache of drugs was recovered from a container at Pipavav port in the Amreli district. The state DGP had told that this container had come from Iran.
