The expansionist policy of Russian President Vladimir Putin invading Ukraine is not only benefiting Russia but is also causing serious damage to Russia. From the very first day of this war, many countries and big companies around the world are imposing many sanctions on Russia. Seeing this, the condition has become such that now a shameful record has been added to the names of Russia and Putin. Russia has become the nation with the most sanctions. Now Russia has left behind Iran and North Korea in this matter.
Number of restrictions more than 5530
In fact, during the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, new sanctions began to be imposed on Russia, which is continuing till now. Bloomberg has explained this in a detailed manner, quoting Castellum Service in one of its reports. It mentions that since February 22, 2778, new sanctions have been imposed on Russia. After the announcement of the new restrictions, the total number of restrictions imposed has increased to more than 5530. Russia has also left Iran behind, against whom 3,616 sanctions have been imposed in the last 10 years.
Russia facing a ban from all countries
It was also pointed out that most of the sanctions (2427) against Russia since February 22 are against some eminent people there. While 343 sanctions have been imposed against entities, which are usually companies or government agencies. Those imposing sanctions against Russia include Switzerland (568), the European Union (518), France (512), and the US (243).
US sanctions have already been imposed on Russia
There is also a fact that before the Ukraine war, several US sanctions against Russia were made for interfering in the 2016 election. Apart from this, experts believe that any country involved in the war hurts the economy. A similar impact of war between Russia-Ukraine is also being seen, which can prove to be harmful to Russia as well.
Russia's response to sanctions
Russia has also reacted to this amid the sanctions being imposed on Russia. Russia has warned Western countries that it is working to respond to the actions taken against it. The director of the Department of Economic Cooperation of Russia's foreign ministry was quoted as saying by the RIA news agency that Russia's response would be swift, thoughtful, and sensitive. Not only this, but recently Chinese President Xi Jinping also warned the world on this matter that the sanctions being imposed on Russia will slow down the world economy.
Ukraine's big statement about NATO
On the other hand, now Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has clearly said that Ukraine will no longer demand NATO membership. Regarding Russia's demands, Zelensky said he was ready to negotiate. Zelensky said he was only asking for security guarantees. After this statement of Zelensky, experts believe that it seems that Ukraine will soon lay down arms.
