Team India has been announced for the Asia Cup. The tournament is considered important in terms of preparation for the T20 World Cup. In such a situation, all eyes were on the team selection. Avesh Khan, who is constantly flopping in the team, has been given a chance. Avesh has played 13 T20 matches this year and has taken just 11 wickets at an average of around 32. His economy is also close to 9. At the same time, many players deserved to be selected for the team, but they did not get a chance.
5. Mohammed Shami
Jasprit Bumrah has not been able to be a part of Team India due to an injury in the Asia Cup. In such a situation, having an experienced bowler in the form of Mohammed Shami in the opening spell with Bhuvneshwar Kumar would have been beneficial for Team India. Apart from Bhuvneshwar, Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan are the only specialist fast bowlers in Team India's squad. However, both do not have much experience in international cricket.
The lack of experienced fast bowlers can create problems for India in the death overs during this big tournament. Playing 16 matches in IPL 2022, Shami took 20 wickets in his name. Shami, who made Gujarat Titans champion in the very first season, is not surprised to find a place in Team India.
4. Ishaan Kishan
The 15-member Indian team that has been selected for the Asia Cup. Ishaan Kishan is not a part of that squad. This decision of the selectors has also come under the scanner. He was getting opportunities in the T20 team continuously after the IPL and suddenly he was dropped. Ishaan was doing well with his bat as well. This year, this dashing batsman has played 14 T20 matches and scored 430 runs. His best score is 89 runs. He has scored runs at a strike rate of 130.30. During this, 3 half-centuries have also come out of his bat.
At the same time, Ishaan was in good form in the 2022 IPL as well. He scored 418 runs in 14 matches. During this, his best score was 81 not out. Considering Ishaan's amazing form, he should have been given a place in the Asia Cup squad.
3. Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson is considered one of the most talented players in India. Sanju has scored 3526 runs in 138 matches of IPL from 2013 to 2022. Despite this, Sanju got the opportunity to play only 4 ODIs and 16 T20Is for India.
Sanju has been selected more in the team as a replacement player. In one series he is part of the team, then in the next series, he is shown the way out. Sanju is known to bat aggressively against spin and pace. In such a situation, he could prove to be a better option in the Dubai conditions in the middle order.
2. Shikhar Dhawan
Shikhar Dhawan's bat thunders in every major tournament for India. Gabbar has scored 9235 runs in 317 T20 matches between 2007 and 2022. It is incomprehensible to sideline the 36-year-old Shikhar from the Indian team's T20 scheme of things. The failure of the top order in the 2021 T20 World Cup was very heavy for Team India. In such a situation, Dhawan's experience in this big tournament would have been very useful to the team.
1. Umran Malik
The fear of Umran Malik, popularly known as Jammu Express, was speaking on the heads of the batsmen in IPL 2022. Umran also got a chance to debut for Team India, but after making a part playing 11 in only 3 T20 matches, Umran was shown the way out of Team India. Dropping the speed star, who took 22 wickets in 14 matches of IPL 2022, can break his spirits from the Indian team so soon. In the Indian cricket team full of medium pacers, a bowler with express speed could prove to be a game changer in the Asia Cup.
