Foreign Ministry driver arrested on charges of 'espionage', was honey-trapped by Pakistan

Delhi Police arrested a driver working in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Friday (November 18) with the help of security agencies. The driver has been arrested for sending confidential and sensitive information to Pakistan.

 

According to sources, Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI has honey-trapped the driver. Police and intelligence agencies have now launched an investigation to find out whether more employees working in the Ministry of External Affairs are involved in the case.

 

ISI targeted the driver

 

High-ranking officials often fall prey to honey traps, but this is perhaps the first time that Pakistan's ISI has targeted a driver. Pictures and videos of some girls have been received from the accused. The statement of the Ministry of External Affairs is still awaited in the matter.

 

A spy was also caught in August

 

Earlier in August also, a 46-year-old man was arrested by the Rajasthan Police from Delhi on charges of spying for Pakistan. Notably, the accused person got Indian citizenship in 2016. The accused was identified as Bhagchand. Bhagchand was born in Pakistan and came to Delhi in 1998 with his family. The accused was working as a taxi driver and laborer in Delhi and was in touch with his bosses through his relatives in Pakistan.
