Pakistan again raised Kashmir issue in UN: India said- PAK is spreading lies to gain sympathy

Posted on 18th Nov 2022 12:31 pm by rohit kumar

India on Thursday reprimanded Pakistan for repeatedly raising the issue of Jammu and Kashmir at the United Nations. India has termed this move of Pakistan as an attempt to spread lies. Prateek Mathur, Counselor of India's Permanent Mission to the UN, said that Jammu and Kashmir are an integral part of India.

Prateek Mathur said- We are talking about UNSC reform here, but a representative of Pakistan has again made an inappropriate reference to Jammu and Kashmir. Whether they believe it or not, Jammu and Kashmir are an integral part of India. Pakistan is trying to spread lies. He will never be successful in this.

He said- Pakistan is spreading lies by using multinational fora (multilateral forums). He is probably doing this to gain sympathy. This is quite disappointing.

India's criticism of Pakistan in the UN

In May 2022, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari raised the recent order of the Delimitation Commission and the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir in an open debate in the United Nations Security Council. He also accused the Kashmiri people of oppression and atrocities in India.

Describing these allegations as wrong, Counselor of India's Permanent Mission to the United Nations Rajesh Parihar had said- Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh were, are, and will remain an integral part of India. It also includes those areas which are under the occupation of Pakistan. No country can deny this. If Pakistan wants to help us, it can contribute to stopping state-sponsored terrorism.

Shahbaz raised the Kashmir issue in the 77th session of the UNGA

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif while addressing the 77th session of UNGA said that he wants peace and good behavior between Pakistan and India. This peace is dependent on a just and permanent solution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Describing Kashmir as a long dispute, Shahbaz Sharif said- India took a unilateral step on August 5, 2019, to change the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. India's decision has made the solution more difficult. There is a conspiracy to make Jammu and Kashmir a Hindu territory. Here by India's decision, he meant the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir.
