Govt Jobs: Center's reply in Rajya Sabha- UPSC and SSC recruited 2.47 lakh candidates in five years

UPSC and SSC Jobs during Last Five Years: Union Minister Jitendra Singh told the Rajya Sabha that during the last five years, 2.47 lakh jobs have been given in various departments of the Central Government. These jobs are offered through recruitment examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

 

Responding to a written question in the Rajya Sabha during the Winter Session of Parliament, Union Minister Jitendra Singh informed that a total of 2,46,914 candidates have been recruited by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). . The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has recommended 13,122 candidates for appointment based on examinations conducted in the last three years.

 

Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that every year vacancies are advertised based on the requirements given by the Ministries and Departments. The minister said that in some cases there may be minor variations and the number of candidates enrolled may be slightly less than the number of vacancies reported due to the non-availability of candidates fulfilling the specific eligibility criteria prescribed in the notice of examination.

 

Singh further said that the creation and filling up of vacancies as per the requirement of various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Central Government is a continuous process. He said that the Government has already issued instructions to all Ministries and Departments to take timely action to fill up the vacant posts.
