Budget 2024: Atishi called the interim budget a box of catchphrases, and said- Central government behaves step-motherly

The AAP government in Delhi termed the budget presented by the BJP central government on Thursday as a jumla. Giving her reaction on the Union Budget, Delhi Finance Minister Atishi said that the budget presented by the BJP-ruled central government proves that it is a government of jumlas. PM Modi had said in 2014 that he would provide 2 crore jobs every year, but after 10 years, did the youth of this country get 20 crore jobs? Not found. 10 crores is a far cry, Modi ji's government did not provide even one crore jobs in the last 10 years.

He said that today more than 10 lakh posts are vacant in the Central Government. The youth who are looking for jobs are neither getting jobs in the private sector nor the government sector and after this again a new statement has been given that 55 lakh jobs will be provided.

Finance Minister Atishi said that today people are facing the brunt of inflation. The prices of flour, pulses, vegetables, petrol, diesel, and all the things used by the common man are skyrocketing. The common man is not able to run his household, but today not a single step has been taken in the budget to reduce inflation.

Finance Minister Atishi said that the Central Government has always shown step-motherly behavior towards Delhi. This year also the Central Government has continued its same attitude. He said that if Delhi gets its fair share in central taxes, then Delhi should get at least Rs 15,000 crore from the central government, but Delhi has got only Rs 1,000 crore in return. Also, the Central Government has kept money in the budget for local bodies across the country, but has not kept even a single rupee for Delhi MCD, which shows their step-motherly behavior towards Delhi.

Terming the budget as a jumla, he said that this year the Central Government has allocated only 1.5 percent of the total budget for the health sector and only 2 percent of the total budget for education. This shows that the budget announcements are just mere words of the BJP-ruled central government while nothing is happening in reality.
