Kolkata, Feb 14 (IANS) Centre-owned infrastructure finance company Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (HUDCO) Saturday said it has sanctioned Rs.837.60 crore to West Bengal for developing two road projects.
The company said it has also sanctioned Rs.1.5 crore for developing five model villages and slum-areas in the state to promote the "comprehensive development of human settlements".
"In West Bengal, HUDCO has supported 48 major urban infrastructure projects with a total loan amount of Rs.3,542 crore. Of this, 34 projects pertain to utility infrastructure such as water supply, drainage, solid waste management, roads and bridges," the company said in a statement.
The corporation said until now, it has supported 338 schemes with a total loan sanction of Rs.4,421 crore of which Rs.3,366 crore has been disbursed already.
"During the last four years, the HUDCO has sanctioned a total of 11 projects for a loan amount of Rs.1,288 crore," it said.
It has financed some of the prominent projects in the state capital in the recent past which includes government buildings, jetty and fly-overs.
