A special court of Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has issued an order saying that it will soon frame charges against Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his son and Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz in a money laundering case. According to local media, the court was to charge the two leaders allegedly involved in the case earlier this month, but the process was delayed due to the PM's absence.

Court summoned on 14 May

Let us inform you that Pak PM Shahbaz Sharif was to appear before the court on Wednesday but he did not appear, after which the court in its written order has summoned him and all the other suspects including Hamza Shahbaz on May 14. The court has said that it will frame charges against both the leaders at the next hearing. Significantly, this happened after Shehbaz Sharif's lawyer had earlier told the court not to attend the hearing citing the Prime Minister is busy in the cabinet meeting and after that the court adjourned the hearing to May 14.

There is a case of Benami property of 1400 crores

This case is going on against Shahbaz and his son regarding Benami's property of 1400 crores. Let us tell you that this case against Shahbaz and his sons Hamza and Suleman is going on since November 2020 and in this, the FIA has registered a case under several sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Anti-Money Laundering Act. One of Shahbaz's sons, Suleman, is still absconding and is suspected to have fled to Britain.

The Shahbaz family is accused of having 28 benami accounts, which have been said to launder an amount of 14 billion Pakistani rupees (75 million USD). According to the allegations of the FIA, the amount was kept in these accounts.
