Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur was nicknamed Lord by his teammates for his stellar performances against England on the previous tour. His name became very famous and whenever Shardul performed well with a bat or ball, fans and fellow players call him by his nickname 'Lord Shardul'.
In England conditions, Shardul Thakur had shown last time with bat and ball what he had the guts to do and could play a vital role for India at Edgbaston. Thakur has done well for the Indian team on overseas tours since her debut.
In a video shared by BCCI, Shardul Thakur reveals his nicknames Lord and Biffy, which have been given to him by his teammates.
He said, "I am happy with any name. I have been called the Bull since my Ranji Trophy days. People know me as Lord and Biffy after my performance against England. It shows how much my teammates love me. It feels good when I hear this."
He further said, "England is a bowler's paradise. The ball swings here and you can get a lot of wickets in one spell. England is one of my favorite places where I like to play cricket. Everyone is doing well in the pace attack we have.
