Sri Lanka Crisis: The crisis continues in Sri Lanka. Emergency has been imposed in the entire country. Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has been appointed as the acting President after President Gotabaya Rajapaksa fled the country. Wickremesinghe said that these are the fascist forces that are protesting now. These forces are trying to capture the government.

Protesters have occupied the Prime Minister's Office. During this, the security forces tried to stop them. According to the hospital, around 30 protesters have been injured so far.

Wickremesinghe said that the army and police have been given a free hand to deal with the protesters. He said that the security agencies of the country should do whatever is possible to restore the law and order situation in the country.

Protesters, who stormed three main buildings in the capital, the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President's Secretariat, and the Prime Minister's official residence, Temple Trees, on Saturday, demanding the resignation of the President Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Wickremesinghe, are still occupied there. Sri Lanka, a country of 22 million people, is in the grip of an unprecedented economic turmoil, leaving millions struggling to buy food, medicine, fuel, and other essentials.

TV broadcast suspended

The country's state-run television channel Rupavihini suspended broadcasts on Wednesday as protesters stormed the building. The Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) said its engineers had suspended live and recorded broadcasts of the channel as the corporation's premises were surrounded by protesters. Later, the channel resumed its broadcast.
