Former England spinner wants to include Yuzvendra Chahal directly in India Test team, gave this statement

Indian team leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal plays only limited-overs cricket, but England legend Graeme Swann says that he would like to keep Chahal in the team without any question in Test cricket. The former England spinner has said that if he was the selector of Team India, he would have immediately picked Chahal in the Test team. He believes that Chahal is a world-class bowler and he is the best spinner in the world. Swann is impressed by Chahal's control and ability to bowl in tough conditions.

Swann feels that the best spinner in Test cricket is not playing. However, he also clarified that he is not sure that Chahal will be as effective with the red ball as he is with the white ball. He believes that some modern spinners are not as attracted to Test cricket as before, as it demands hard work on the fingers, body, and mind.

Speaking to TOI, Swann said, "I'll sit with Yuji (Chahal) and I'll say, 'What is this? Do you want to play Tests for India?' If he does yes, then I will put him straight into the team. I think he is world-class, he is the best spinner in the world in my opinion. His control, leg-spin bowling especially in very difficult conditions He is unbelievable even when the dew hits and the ball gets wet."

"Of course, people dove into one format and then find it difficult," said the former England spinner. Asked if the selectors want players to play the same format, he replied, "I must say Yuji is the best white-ball spinner because we don't know if he is the best red-ball spinner." There could be a spinner, but it shows that some cricketers have been trapped in the white-ball format."
