Russia claims an attack on Putin's residence with 91 drones.
Notably, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed that Ukraine attacked the Russian President's residence last night with 91 long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This residence of President Putin is located in the northwestern Novgorod region. Lavrov claimed that Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed all 91 drones. However, Ukraine has denied these allegations. The Ukrainian President denied the allegations and said that Russia wants to derail peace talks by making such accusations.
Zelenskyy also said that Russia is lying, and this is nothing but an excuse for Russia to continue its attacks on Ukraine. Zelenskyy also said that Russia has repeatedly targeted government buildings in Kyiv.
Russia says it will review its position on the peace agreement.
Following the attack on President Putin's residence, Russia has said that it will now review its position on the peace agreement. It is still unclear whether Putin was present at the residence at the time of the attack. Russia's claim of an attack on the Russian president's residence comes at a time when Ukrainian President Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump in Florida on Sunday. During the meeting, Zelenskyy and Trump discussed a revised peace proposal. After the meeting, Zelenskyy said that there is a possibility that the Russia-Ukraine war could end in 2026. However, he also stated that this would not be possible without American assistance.
