Team India has made a clean sweep of 3-0 on the West Indies team, maintaining its ODI performance in the T20 series as well. This is India's second consecutive series win against West Indies in T20 International cricket. At the same time, Team India has equaled its record of winning nine consecutive matches in T20Is. India had earlier won the series 2-1 against West Indies in 2019 as well. Keeping in mind the T20 World Cup 2022 to be held in Australia later this year, 5 big things have come out for Team India from this series.

top order fail

India will have to strengthen its top order with the T20 World Cup. The top three batsmen in the top order could not leave much impact. Captain Rohit Sharma scored 40 runs in the first match while Virat Kohli scored a half-century in the second match. But Ishan Kishan did not bat as expected in all three matches. He scored only 71 runs in three matches at a strike rate of just 85.

middle-order strong

India has solved their middle-order problem in this series. The middle order of the team was not performing well for some time. But now India's middle-order is back in form. Middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav played a blistering half-century of 65 runs in the third match. He scored the highest 107 runs for India in the series. He not only became the player of the match but also the player of the series. Apart from him, emerging all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer also played a brilliant inning. Venkatesh scored 92 runs in 3 innings, with a strike rate of 184.

New faces were impressed with their performance

Team India gave chance to many new faces in this series and they were successful in making their mark. These players include players like Ishan Kishan, Rituraj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav, Venkatesh Iyer, Harshal Patel, Deepak Hooda, and Avesh Khan. Leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi made a good debut in the series and took 3 wickets while fast bowler Avesh Khan made his debut in the third T20I.

India's bowling attack strong in the death overs

India's bowling attack in the series against West Indies was excellent. The Indian bowlers put up a great performance at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata despite the pitch getting wet in the evening due to dew. Restraining the attacking batting of West Indies, the team defended the score brilliantly in the last two matches. In the second T20, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel bowled well in the last over while Harshal and Shardul Thakur played the role well in the last match.
