On the sidelines of the ASEAN meetings in the Indonesian capital Jakarta, Wang told Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar that mutual support is needed instead of suspicion between the two countries.
China is now India's second-largest trading partner

Tension increased after the Galvan clash
India and China share a border of 3,800 km and in 1962 there have been wars between the two countries. Although relations improved to some extent after this, the situation is tense after the skirmish between the soldiers of the two countries at the Galvan Valley in 2020. Twenty Indian soldiers and four Chinese soldiers were killed in the face-off, after which India has not normalized relations with China.
several rounds of talks
On Friday, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and former Foreign Minister of China and current Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Communist Party of China Wang Yi met. The two leaders are attending the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) meeting in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, where they held delegation-level talks. In the last few months, Jaishankar has held two meetings with the Foreign Minister of China.
The leaders of the two countries are likely to meet again during the BRICS Foreign Ministers and Top Leaders meeting in South Africa in August. The round of talks between the two countries is going on at a certain interval at the diplomatic level and also at the military commander level. It is also reported that back-channel talks are also taking place between India and China regarding the border dispute.
India's clear message - peace and tranquility on the border is necessary
However, China is not ready to move back its forces from the two positions along the LAC to the pre-May 2020 position. China says that the situation on the border with India is normal, while India is constantly saying that the situation is not normal now and relations cannot be normal without establishing peace and tranquility on the border.
