According to the report, by 2050, half of the world's population will be in just 8 countries. These include Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Philippines, and Tanzania. At present, the population of 46 developed countries is growing the fastest, of which 32 countries are in sub-Saharan Africa.
It is estimated that by 2050, more than half of the world's population will live in this region. On the other hand, there are 61 countries whose population will decrease between 2022 and 2050. Most of these countries will be included in Europe.
Women and elders will increase in the world
According to the report, currently, 50.3% of the world is male and 49.7% female, but by 2050 both the numbers will be equal. In addition, people aged 65 and over currently account for 10% of the global population. This will increase to 12% between 2022 and 2030 and to 16% by 2050. During this time in Europe and North America, one out of every 4 people will be over 65 years of age.
