Mahi jumped almost 2.3 seconds with a reaction time of 0.60 seconds to take the catch of Vijay Shankar during the match and took a brilliant catch by diving. Suresh Raina, who was commentating on the match, also could not live without praising Mahi on social media.

 

In fact, at one point during the match, Gujarat had lost two wickets for 34 runs. However, after this Sai Sudarshan and Vijay Shankar were at the crease. Both of them are players from Tamil Nadu and Chepauk is their home ground. In such a situation, both could become a threat to the Chennai Super Kings. Captain Ruturaj removed the regular bowlers from the line-up and handed the ball to Daryl Mitchell and he sent Vijay Shankar to the pavilion in his very first over. On the third ball of the eighth over of Gujarat's innings, Mitchell's ball took the edge of Shankar's bat and went backward. Dhoni, standing ready there, dived to his right and took the catch.

 

During this, he stretched his body about 2.3 meters in the air. At that time he had a reaction time of less than a second. However, he did not make any mistakes and sent Vijay Shankar to the pavilion. Both Dhoni's legs were in the air while taking the catch. Seeing this catch of Dhoni, his best friend Suresh Raina looked happy. He has shared Dhoni's video on Instagram. This catch of Dhoni is also special because he had undergone knee surgery after the IPL last year. Recently he has come back from rehab and even after this, he took such a brilliant catch for the team without any fear. At the age of 42, Dhoni is showing youthful fitness and is very special to CSK. He did not come out to bat against Gujarat but won the hearts of the fans with his fielding. Apart from this, Ajinkya Rahane also took a brilliant catch of David Miller at deep mid-wicket. Talking about the match, Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by 63 runs in the seventh match of IPL 2024. Batting first, Chennai scored 206 runs after losing six wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Gujarat team could score only 143 runs after losing eight wickets in 20 overs. With this victory, the Chennai team led by Ruturaj Gaikwad has reached the top of the points table with four points. The 63-run defeat is Gujarat's biggest-ever defeat by a margin of runs in the IPL. Earlier, 10 months ago, they were defeated by Mumbai Indians by 27 runs at Wankhede. Chennai has broken Mumbai's record. CSK's next match is against Delhi Capitals on March 31 in Visakhapatnam. At the same time, Gujarat's next match is against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Ahmedabad on 31st March.
