The NIA has intensified its investigation into the recent blast near the Red Fort in Delhi. As part of the investigation, the agency has arrested Janisur alias Nisar Alam, an MBBS student from North Dinajpur, West Bengal, on suspicion of alleged links to terrorist organizations. Nisar is a student at Al-Falah University in Haryana and lives in Ludhiana. His ancestral home is in Konal village near Dalkhola.

According to reports, Nisar was apprehended in Surajpur market on Friday morning while returning from a family wedding. Authorities tracked his movements based on his mobile location data.

Digital devices recovered from Nisar

Sources stated that he has been detained for questioning in connection with the recent blast near the Red Fort in Delhi. However, the NIA has not yet clarified Nisar's direct connection to the blast.

The investigating agency has also recovered digital devices and documents from him. During interrogation, Nisar attempted to escape, after which he was formally arrested. He is being taken to Siliguri for further investigation.

Nisar's family called the allegations baseless.

Meanwhile, Nisar's family has responded to his arrest. His relatives say that he is a calm, studious boy and cannot be involved in any wrongdoing.
