He has been captaining the Indian football team for the last several years. He has informed me about his retirement on his social media handle. 39-year-old Sunil Chhetri said that he will play an international match against Kuwait for the last time.

 

Sunil Chhetri played his 150th international match against Afghanistan in Guwahati. However, India had to face defeat by 1-2 in this match.

 

Chhetri is the world's number-3 scorer

Sunil Chhetri made his debut for India in the year 2005. Chhetri scored 94 goals while playing for India. He is India's all-time top scorer. At the same time, he is in third place in the list of goal scorers after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
