With this win, India tied the five-match series 1-1. Earlier in 2019, India defeated West Indies by 318 runs, which has been the biggest win on foreign soil so far.
With the victory of Team India under Gill's captaincy, Sunil Gavaskar's record made in Auckland in 1976 was also broken. Then Gavaskar was 26 years and 202 days old when he led the team to victory against New Zealand.

Gill's bat also performed well in India's victory at Edgbaston (India National Cricket Stadium). He scored 269 runs in the first innings and 161 runs in the second innings. He has become the first batsman in Test history to score 250+ and 150+ runs in the same match. Earlier, he had also scored 147 runs at Headingley.
So far, Gill has scored 585 runs in two Tests, with an average of 146.25. Now he is moving towards Don Bradman's 90-year-old record - 974 runs in a series.
