Palestinian Ambassador to India Adnan Abu al-Haija on Thursday launched a strong attack against Israel. During this, he said that Hamas "is not a terrorist organization" but "freedom fighters" fighting against the occupation.

Referring to Israel, he said the 'occupation' is 'terrorist' and it should leave Palestine. He further affirmed that Palestinians should be allowed to live in "peace and freedom" like any other country.

Al-Haija also thanked the people of the state of Kerala for supporting the people of Palestine during the current conflict.

Hamas is a freedom fighter organization- Al-Haija

Speaking to reporters in Kozhikode, the Palestinian envoy said, I would like to state here that Hamas is not a terrorist organization. Hamas is a freedom fighter organization. They are fighting the occupation, the occupation is terrorists and they should leave our house. We should live in peace and freedom like any other country in the world.

"I would like to thank the people of Kerala for supporting the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people," he said.

It is noteworthy that since the attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7, the Palestinian Authority has never condemned the attack.

Earlier, the Palestinian envoy had told ANI that the conflict with Israel would always continue until "a Palestinian state is established with East Jerusalem as its capital".

Hamas attacked Israel on October 7

On October 7, Hamas launched a terrorist attack on Israel. More than 2000 terrorists breached Israeli borders and carried out a massive attack in which more than 1200 people were killed and many injured.

Hamas took more than 200 people as hostages in the Gaza Strip on 7 October.

Subsequently, Israel launched a strong counter-offensive targeting Hamas terrorist cells in Gaza.

However, Israeli airstrikes and ground operations drew outrage from rights groups and the Arab world over the rising civilian death toll.

Many people have died so far in the attack

More than 14,000 people, including more than 5,000 children, have been killed amid the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza, according to the Hamas-run ministry in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Israel and Hamas are currently observing an operational pause in the fighting under a hostage agreement. Initially, the ceasefire was for four days but it was later extended to the seventh day.

Hamas released six more Israeli hostages on Thursday.

According to The Times of Israel, earlier on Thursday, Hamas had released two Israeli hostages, bringing the total number of hostages today to eight.
