According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature at many places in the country on Thursday ranged from 43 degrees Celsius to 46 degrees Celsius. Especially in most areas of Rajasthan, in some districts of Southern Haryana, and at some places in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh, the temperature was recorded more than 43 degrees Celsius. This is 2-4 degrees Celsius more than the normal temperature. The Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday that the heat wave will start in eastern and central India from May 18. The department has issued an orange alert for Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Delhi. It emphasizes health concerns for children, the elderly, and people suffering from chronic diseases. The warning states that there is a possibility of an increase in heat-related diseases in people who stay in the sun for a long time or do heavy work.
Heat waves will continue in these areas for the next five days
The Meteorological Department has warned that for the next five days, hot winds will blow in some areas of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh from May 17 to May 21. A heat wave warning has been issued in North Madhya Pradesh from May 18 to May 21. There is a possibility of a deadly heat wave in Western Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana, and some areas of Delhi between May 18-21. Whereas in Sub-Himalayan areas and West Bengal, people will be in trouble due to humidity and heat on May 17.
Rain forecast in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in some areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal between May 17 and 21. Also, heavy rain is expected in Kerala on May 20. This rain will occur due to the effect of a cyclonic storm on the southern coast of Tamil Nadu. Along with rain, winds can also blow at a speed of 40-50 kilometers per hour. Also, heavy rain is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, and Kerala today. The southwest monsoon is advancing into the Andaman Sea.
