Temporary media ban on reporting the blast

The Istanbul government's Ali Yerlikaya tweeted that the explosion occurred at around 4:20 p.m. Turkey's media watchdog has temporarily banned reporting of the blast. The Radio and Television Supreme Council has also taken the same step. A video posted online showed flames and a massive explosion. Other footage showed ambulances, fire trucks, and police at the scene.

According to the state-run Anadolu news agency, five prosecutors have been assigned to the blast investigation. Videos posted online showed a massive explosion and flames rising. Passengers ran away as soon as the incident happened. After the incident, along with the police, ambulances and fire engines reached there.
