The employee, named Mercedes Weda, joined the workforce in September 2019. In the complaint filed Tuesday in Seattle state court, she claimed she was sometimes made to work 10 to 14 hours a day during that time. During that time he oversaw a team of five to six housekeepers.
According to the complaint, employees did not have access to a respectable break room or rest area while working at Amazon. Also, there was no easily accessible toilet. According to the complaint, the housekeeping staff was forced to eat food in the laundry room. Employees were also forbidden from using the toilet in the nearby security room, forcing them to look out the window to access the bathroom.
