Imposing Islamic Practices in Jamtara and Garhwa District's Schools: The issue of Islamization of schools in Garhwa and Jamtara of Jharkhand has gained momentum. The issue of the imposition of Sharia and Islamic practices on school students has been in the news at the national level. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has issued a notice to the district administration and sought a report regarding this matter. The commission has asked the Garhwa District Deputy Commissioner to investigate it immediately and submit the report within a week.
The NCPCR notice comes after complaints that it was claimed that some Islamic fundamentalists forced the headmasters of government schools in Muslim-majority areas to change the school prayers and also changed the weekly holiday in schools from Sunday to Friday. Is. Not only this but Urdu school has also been added in front of the names of many schools. The Legal Rights Observatory has complained to the NCPCR that some Islamic fundamentalists in the Garhwa district are trying to impose Shariat and Islamic practices on school children.
The situation may become more serious in future
According to the complaint, all these things are indicating that the situation may become more serious in the future. Efforts are being made to restore the old tradition and government system by holding meetings of the officials of the education department in a hurry. After the matter came to light, the government of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Congress has come on the back foot. At the same time, the opposition is targeting the government for its policies of Muslim appeasement.
Education Minister said - DEO and DSE were called for discussion
At the same time, while clarifying the matter, Jharkhand Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto said that as soon as the news came to the notice of schools in the Muslim-dominated areas of Jharkhand being Friday holiday instead of Sunday and changing the prayer, we heard about Jamtara and Garhwa district. DEO and DSE have been called for discussion. Mahto said that we expect to get a report on this matter within a week. Then we will consider it. He said that the instructions of the government will be followed.
Trying to impose Sharia and Islamic practices on minors
NCPCR President Priyank Kanungo said on Wednesday that we received a complaint on Tuesday that Islamic fundamentalists are trying to impose Sharia and Islamic practices on minors and have changed the old-school prayer. Children are not allowed to pray with folded hands. We have issued notice to the district administration and asked them to initiate an investigation and legal action. He said that the Deputy Commissioner of Garhwa has been asked to submit the inquiry report within a week and take necessary action for the care and safety of the children.
