Pakistan, which is considering importing vegetables from India, is facing difficulties. It is reported that India is not in the mood to do business with the neighboring country until it stops supporting terrorism. At present, the people in Pakistan are facing heavy floods, due to which the prices of vegetables and other food items have increased significantly in the country. It was being said that in such a situation, Pakistan can look to India for supplies.
Pakistan's Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said on Monday that Pakistan can import vegetables and other things from India to rescue people. A journalist questioned Pakistani ministers who had to step down for supporting trade with India. To this Ismail said, 'If people have to go home to save themselves from inflation, then it is fine. I am working to improve the economy. I hope I don't get fired
He said the supply of food items like fruits and vegetables could be affected by the floods. The minister said, “If the supply is affected, then the import of vegetables will have to start. If we had to source vegetables from India, we would do so. In 2019, Pakistan suspended trade relations with India after the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was abolished.
The special thing is that Pakistan's Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also spoke in favor of increasing trade and connectivity with other countries. During this, he specifically talked about India. However, a clarification was issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, which said that there is no change in Pakistan's policy regarding India.
India's attitude is too tough
CNN-News18 quoted government sources as saying that due to Islamabad's promotion of terrorism, business relations between the two countries are not possible. "We have reports of at least 50 foreign terrorists coming to India from Pakistan and many are sitting near the border," the sources said. "We are ready to talk on trade, but Pakistan has to stop terrorism immediately," he said.
