Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has taken a big step regarding the Karnataka-Maharashtra land dispute. A resolution has been passed in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly to merge the disputed land between the two states into Maharashtra. There are 865 villages in this. The resolution was passed without opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
Maharashtra has said in its proposal that there are 865 Marathi-speaking villages in the disputed area and every inch of their land will be merged with Maharashtra. To do this, the Maharashtra government will do whatever is required to be done in the Supreme Court. These villages include Belgaum, Karwar, Bidar, Nipani, and Bhalki.
A similar resolution was passed in the Karnataka Assembly on Thursday.
A similar resolution was also passed by the Karnataka Assembly on Thursday. In this, the Karnataka government had said not to give the disputed land to Maharashtra. Today in the assembly session Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde termed this proposal of Karnataka as anti-Maratha and passed this proposal.
Karnataka condemned this border dispute and blamed Maharashtra for it. Karnataka's resolution stated that there would be no compromise on any issue related to Karnataka's land, water, language, and Kannada interests. The sentiments of the people of Karnataka and the members of the assembly are one such issue and if affected, we are determined to take constitutional and legal steps to protect the interest of the state.
