Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has lobbied vigorously in Parliament for the convenience of students and scholars who wish to study in their mother tongue. The Union Minister demanded that Hindi and other regional languages versions of science journals should also be made available to the youth preparing for competitive exams and aspiring to pursue higher education. This will also make it easier for the youth to memorize due to convenience and reading in their language.

Officers and scientists like to speak in Hindi

Chairing a meeting of the Hindi Advisory Committee of the Ministries of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Union Minister Singh on Monday made a strong pitch for the translation of science literature, including magazines and journals, into Hindi and other local languages. He said senior officials in the Department of Earth Sciences like Secretary M Ravichandran, senior scientist Dr. Nallathambi Kalaiselvi (Director General CSIR), S Chandrasekhar (S&T), and Rajesh Gokhale (Biotechnology) come from non-Hindi backgrounds, but all of them always speak Hindi. I prefer to speak in Hindi and encourage to work in Hindi only.

Madhya Pradesh is the first state to provide medical education in Hindi

Union Minister for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh asked the committee members to suggest some good experts who can be hired by the ministries for quality translation of science journals, magazines, and other documents. Singh said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had launched MBBS course books in Hindi in October 2022, making Madhya Pradesh the first state to impart medical education in Hindi.

Languages bind people: Singh

Singh also said that languages bind people, and do not break them unless they are imposed forcibly. He urged the ministries to continuously work for both their mother tongue and official language Hindi and make efforts to learn more languages.
