Ranveer Singh: Update on Ranveer Singh's fake video case, notice issued to the accused, police action intensified

Ranveer Singh came into limelight recently due to one of his viral videos. In the clip, the actor was seen commenting on a political party. The video went viral instantly on social media. However, it was later revealed that it was a deepfake video. At the same time, being upset with this act, Ranveer Singh took strict action on this and complained to the police. Now the nodal cyber police officers of Maharashtra Cyber Police have taken a big step in the matter.


 

The nodal cyber police station of Maharashtra Cyber Police on Tuesday registered an FIR against an unidentified X account user for posting a deepfake video of actor Ranveer Singh. The FIR was registered based on the complaint of the actor's father. On Tuesday, Ranveer Singh's father Jugjit Singh Sundar Bhavnani recorded his statement before the state cyber police. She told the police that on April 14, her son had participated in a fashion show in Varanasi where he had given an interview to a news agency.


 

Bhavnani told the cyber police that on April 17, an In the case, the police say that the original scenes have been retained in the video but the deepfake video of the actor was created with the help of Artificial Intelligence, data swapping, machine learning, AI-based speech.


 

On Bhavnani's complaint, the police registered an FIR against the accused ex-user under sections 417, 468, 469, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code and section 66D of the IT Act. Maharashtra Cyber Police DIG Sanjay Shintre said in a statement, 'The police have issued a notice to the accused user of the said X handle and are investigating the matter further.'


 

On the work front, Ranveer Singh was last seen in Karan Johar's directorial venture 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani'. In this film, actors like Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi were in the lead roles. Talking about the actor's upcoming films, he will soon be seen in 'Singham Again' directed by Rohit Shetty. The film stars Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. The actor will also be seen in 'Don 3'.
