Today i.e. 25 April 2023, on Tuesday, the doors of Kedarnath Dham have been opened. As soon as the doors of Kedarnath Dham open, a crowd of devotees are thronging to have the darshan of Lord Shiva. Let us inform you that the doors of Baba Kedarnath Dham were opened at 06.30 in the morning amidst the chanting of mantras in Megh Lagna and the proclamation of 'Har Har Mahadev'. Thousands of devotees remained present to have darshan of Baba Kedarnath despite the extreme cold in Kedarnath Dham. The doors of the temple were opened by Jagadguru Rawal Bhimashankar Ling Shivacharya, the chief priest of the Dham.
Kedarnath Yatra Darshan is only for 6 months
Kedarnath Jyotirlinga is also included in the twelve Jyotirlingas. Along with this, it is also included in Panch Kedar. The doors of the temple are closed for 6 months due to the temperature falling below -1 in the winter season. Before closing the doors, the priests light a lamp here, which is found burning only after 6 months when the doors are opened. Every year the doors of the temple are closed and opened only after the worship of Baba Bhairav. It is believed that Lord Bhairav protects this temple and this Dham.
Know the story related to Kedarnath Dham (Kedarnath Dham Katha)
After the war of Mahabharata, the Pandavas were accused of killing brothers and relatives. To get rid of this sin, all the brothers reached Kailash to seek forgiveness from Lord Shiva. But Lord Shiva did not want to forgive him. Then he assumed the form of a bull and hid among the cattle in the mountains.
Pandavas could not recognize him, but Gadadhari Bhima recognized him as soon as he saw him and Shivaji's secret came in front of everyone. Seeing this devotion of Pandavas, Shivji was very pleased and freed everyone from sins. Since then the bull's back-shaped body is worshiped here in the form of Shiva.
