Kolkata, Feb 10 (IANS) The Japanese consulate here will display audio-visuals of the nation's traditions for the students of a school in West Bengal Thursday to generate awareness about the East Asian country.

As part of a school visit programme for cultural exchanges, consulate officials will meet students of Bodhicariya Senior Secondary School at Rajarhat, on Kolkata's north eastern fringes, a consulate release said.

"Officials from the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata will present various programmes which include a quiz contest to generate awareness about Japan and a video to showcase schools and traditional cultures in Japan.

"This unique exchange will help us to enhance the cultural bond between the two countries," the release said.

It said the school is managed by a non-profit organisation committed to educate children who are deprived of opportunities of education, particularly among the tribal families of India's northeast region and Bengal.
