A complaint has been filed in Muzaffarpur Court against Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge. This case is related to an alleged controversial statement made by senior Congress leader Kharge in Madhya Pradesh regarding Kumbh bath.
Advocate Sudhir Ojha filed a complaint.
This complaint has been filed by local advocate Sudhir Ojha. Advocate Ojha has accused Kharge of hurting religious sentiments. The complaint states that Mallikarjun Kharge's statement has hurt the faith of Hindu devotees. The hearing of this case is going on in Muzaffarpur Court. The court has fixed the date of the next hearing as 3 February 2025.
Legal aspect of the case
Advocate Sudhir Ojha claims that Kharge's statement has not only hurt religious sentiments but also attempted to create religious imbalance in the society. The complaint filed in the court mentions various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including charges of hurting religious sentiments and disturbing public peace.
Waiting for Kharge's response
So far, there has been no official response from Mallikarjun Kharge or the Congress party on this complaint. All eyes are on the upcoming hearing of the court on the matter.
Controversial statements became a matter.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday questioned Union Home Minister Amit Shah's dip in the Triveni Sangam and asked whether bathing in the Ganges will end poverty. He alleged that BJP leaders are engaged in a competition to dip for the cameras. Addressing the 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhaan' rally in Mhow, Kharge said that BJP leaders take a dip as long as it looks good in the cameras. However, he also said that he is not questioning anyone's faith, and if anyone is hurt by his statement, he apologizes.
Kharge said that do not fall prey to Modi's false promises. Does taking a dip in the Ganga end poverty? Does it fill your stomach? I do not want to question anyone's faith. If anyone felt bad, I apologize. He further said that when children are dying of hunger, not going to school, and laborers are not getting their wages, then these people are spending thousands of rupees and competing to take a dip in the Ganga.
It is worth noting that before this statement of Kharge, Amit Shah took a dip in the Triveni Sangam during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. Along with him, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took a dip in the Ganga at a different time. Shah also held a special meeting with top saints in the Sangam area.
'It is wrong to use religion in the name of the poor'
Kharge said that he also has faith in God, but it is wrong to use religion in the name of the poor. Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge said that we will not tolerate the exploitation of the poor in the name of religion. He said that Vallabhbhai Patel had ordered to shut down RSS, yet he pitted Jawaharlal Nehru and Vallabhbhai Patel against each other. Jawaharlal Nehru had said that we should together destroy the dreadful community that killed the greatest man of our era (Mahatma Gandhi)... RSS and BJP are anti-national. Kharge also said that RSS-BJP are traitors. If we want freedom from poverty and unemployment, then the Constitution has to be protected. They (RSS-BJP) say that do not look for Shivling under every mosque, but they keep inciting people to do so.
'Rahul Gandhi is fighting for you'
Kharge said that Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, was born on 14 April 1891 on this very land of Mhow (Ambedkar Nagar). One person tried his best to get the rights of the untouchables, Dalits, tribals, backward people, and poor people in the entire country. When one person can do all this, why can't you? If all of you become like Ambedkar ji, then this BJP government will be shaken, they will be lost. Rahul Gandhi is fighting for you, he did padayatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir...for whom did he do it? For you!
