Lamanganba's aunt, 31-year-old Telem Thoibi, was shot three times in the chest and once in the stomach. Her skull was crushed by a blunt object, causing severe fractures and brain damage. Not only this, her eyes were gouged out. The post-mortem report also confirmed that the woman was raped. Thoibi's eight-year-old daughter Telem Thazamanbi Devi also died of bullet injuries.
