Mhow Violence: 4 cases of assault, arson and vandalism registered; Police in action mode after uproar in Mhow, 13 arrested

Team India's spectacular victory in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy was celebrated across the country. During this, fireworks took place at many places and the victory was celebrated. Meanwhile, in Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow), a chaotic situation prevailed for three hours due to the disturbance during the procession taken out after India won the ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday night.

 

The police have registered 4 cases in this matter, in which FIR has been registered against about 40 named and others under sections of rioting, assault, arson, vandalism. 13 people have been arrested. Other accused are being identified based on CCTV footage.

 

The fire broke out near the temple at 11 pm.

 

Mhow has been converted into a cantonment by deploying more than 300 police forces with weapons. Also, all areas are being monitored through six drones. 13 people are reported to be injured in the incident.

 

11 bikes, two auto rickshaws, one car, and one shop were burnt in the disturbance. Peace prevailed throughout the day on Monday, but at 11.45 pm, unknown people set fire to three handcarts near Pratap Bal Mandir at Chowpatty.

 

'Will not tolerate anti-national activities'

 

MLA Usha Thakur said that if the miscreants are identified in the video, then she will request the Chief Minister to take action to run a bulldozer. If anyone raises his head from anywhere, we will teach him a harsh lesson. No anti-national activities will be tolerated.
