Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Donald Trump who returned to America leaving the G7 summit held in Canada midway. The two talked for about 35 minutes. During this, India's fight against terrorism and 'Operation Sindoor' were discussed. During this, PM Modi clarified that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan was achieved through mutual consent between the two countries following a call from the neighboring country. There was no mediation of anyone in this and no trade deal was discussed. The conversation took place at a time when PM Modi left for Croatia from Canada today after participating in the G7.

Talked on the phone at the request of President Trump

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said, 'The meeting of PM Modi and President Trump was scheduled during the G7 summit. President Trump had to return to the United States early, which prevented this meeting from taking place. After this, at the request of President Trump, both leaders spoke on the phone today. They talked for about 35 minutes. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, President Trump expressed condolences to PM Modi over the phone and also expressed support in the fight against terrorism. This was the first time they were talking after that. Therefore, PM Modi talked to President Trump in detail about Operation Sindoor.'

'...Topics like the India-US trade deal or India-Pakistan mediation were not discussed'

Vikram Misri said, 'Prime Minister Modi told President Trump that during this entire incident, topics like India-US trade deal or India-Pakistan mediation were never discussed at any level. The talks about stopping military action were held directly through the channel between the armies of India and Pakistan. This conversation took place only after Pakistan's request.'

Modi told Trump - India's Operation Sindoor is still going on.

Vikram Misri further said, 'PM Modi stressed that India had never accepted mediation, nor does it and will never do so. There is complete political unanimity in India on this subject. Trump understood the points made by PM Modi and expressed support for the fight against terrorism. PM Modi also said that India no longer sees terrorism as a proxy war but as a war. India's Operation Sindoor is still going on.'

PM Modi invites President Trump to India for the next Quad meeting.

The Foreign Secretary said, 'President Trump asked PM Modi if he would stop in the US while returning from Canada. PM Modi expressed his inability to do so due to pre-scheduled commitments. The two leaders decided that they would try to meet shortly. PM Modi invited President Trump to India for the next Quad meeting. Accepting the invitation, President Trump said that he was excited to come to India.'
