Nepal Plane Crash: A major plane crash occurred in Nepal's capital Kathmandu on Wednesday. A Shaurya Airlines plane crashed during takeoff at Tribhuvan International Airport. According to the Kathmandu Post, five bodies have been recovered from the accident site.
There were 19 people on board the plane.
According to a report in the Kathmandu Post, TIA spokesperson Premnath Thakur said that there were 19 people on board the plane going to Pokhara, including the aircrew. The plane crashed at around 11 am. Police and firefighters are present at the accident site and rescue operations are underway.

A security officer posted at the airport told news agency PTI that the pilot of the plane has been taken to the hospital. He said that the fire in the plane had been extinguished. Police and firefighters are carrying out rescue operations at the accident site. At present, detailed information about the condition of the passengers is not available.

According to Kathmandu Post, eyewitnesses said that the plane was taking off from the southern end of the runway and suddenly turned over and the wing hit the ground directly, causing the plane to catch fire immediately. After this, it fell into the ditch between the Buddha Air Hangar and the radar station on the eastern side of the runway. Thick clouds of smoke can be seen at the airport in the viral video.
