New Delhi, March 20 (IANS) The government on Friday denied any "breach in security" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Jaffna in Sri Lanka earlier this month.

External affairs ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said that reports that a Sri Lankan national had broken out of queue and walked up to Modi when he was about to board a car to leave Jaffna on March 14 "are not true".

Akbaruddin described the report as "Figment masquerading as fact".

He said there are many video recordings of the event for people to check, and added that he had no such information.
