PM was addressing Jan Aushadhi Day

One medical college in every district
PM Modi said that keeping in mind the challenges of the future, the government is continuously strengthening the health infrastructure. Even after so many decades of independence, there was only one AIIMS in the country, but today there are 22 AIIMS in the country. The government aims to open at least one medical college in every district of the country.

In his address, PM Modi said that Jan Aushadhi Kendras give medicine to the body, there are medicines to reduce the anxiety of the mind and there are also centers that provide relief to the people by saving money. After the prescription of medicine came in hand, the apprehension in the minds of people that, I do not know how much money will be spent in buying the medicine, that worry has now subsided.
Total savings of Rs 13,000 crore
PM Modi said that today more than 8,500 Jan Aushadhi Kendras are open in the country. This year, through Jan Aushadhi Kendra, the poor and middle class have got savings of about Rs.5,000 crore. In this financial year, medicines worth more than Rs 800 crore have been sold through Jan Aushadhi Kendras. So far, a total of about Rs 13,000 crore has been saved by the people.
