Now Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has given a big statement. He said that the grave of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb should not be removed. He has advised that a memorial of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj should also be built in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Leader of Republican Party of India (Athawale) and Union Minister Athawale reached Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Here he reviewed the central schemes run by the Social Welfare Department of the state government. He told reporters that removing Aurangzeb's grave will not solve anything.

Athawale said, "Do not remove the grave. A big memorial of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje should be built in Sambhajinagar. Many leaders including Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Maharashtra have demanded the removal of Aurangzeb's grave. Protests have also been held at various places across the state. Hindu organizations allege that Aurangzeb tortured Hindus during his reign.

Ramdas Athawale further said that Aurangzeb's grave is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). We have to move forward with the ideology of Sambhaji Maharaj. But there should be peace in the country.

Athawale, who is handling the responsibility of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, appealed to the Muslims not to associate themselves with Aurangzeb. Athawale said, "My request to the Muslim community is that you should not associate yourself with Aurangzeb. The Muslims here were Hindus. The Muslims here are not the children of Aurangzeb. They have nothing to do with him."
