B. Saroja Devi: Karnataka CM said- last rites will be performed with state honours, praised the personality of Saroja Devi

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah shared a tweet on Monday on the death of B. Saroja Devi, expressing grief over the death of this famous actress. Now, in a conversation with ANI, he remembered B. Saroja Devi and talked about giving her state honors. Along with this, he has again paid tribute to Saroja Devi by tweeting.

 

This honor will be given to the late Saroja Devi.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, 'I have met her many times before. Wherever we met, she always talked with great affection and warmth. She was an actress with a wonderful personality. May God rest her soul in peace. She acted in many films. We have a proposal to name the 11th cross road in Malleswaram after B. Saroja Devi. This will be discussed. Instructions have been given to cremate B. Saroja Devi with full state honors.'

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also posted on Twitter and paid tribute to B. He has paid tribute to Saroja Devi. He has also shared the pictures of the last darshan. He writes in his tweet, 'I have paid tribute to B. Saroja Devi by paying my last respects to her. She was an extraordinary actress. She was a star of five languages. She played excellent roles in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films, and received a lot of praise. I had the privilege of meeting Saroja Devi many times. She used to talk to everyone with warmth and affection. She was an actress with a great personality. I have seen many of her films. The entire film industry is deeply shocked by the death of Saroja Devi. After entering the film world at a young age, she remained an artist for seven decades. She received the title of Abhinav Saraswati at an early age. She acted in films with famous actors of all languages, including Dilip Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, Dev Anand, MGR, NTR, Shivaji Ganesan, and Raj Kumar. Saroja Devi brought life to every character she played. She contributed a lot to taking the Kannada film industry forward. B. Saroja Devi's last rites will be performed in her hometown.'

 

The first superstar of Kannada cinema

 

B. Saroja Devi had done more than 200 films in her career, which included Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi films. Saroja Devi also got the first superstar status in Kannada cinema. She became the lead heroine in about 161 films. She is the only heroine to do so. She also did many films with the famous South Indian actor NTR. She also acted with Dilip Kumar in Hindi films. Saroja Devi was also honored for her contribution to cinema. She was given the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Government of India in 2008. She was awarded Padma Bhushan in 1992 and Padma Shri in 1969. In the year 1994, Filmfare honored her with the Lifetime Achievement Award (South).
