Today Chandrababu Naidu will take oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. After being elected as the leader of the legislative party on Tuesday, the leaders of TDP, BJP, and Janasena alliance met Governor S Abdul Nazir in Vijayawada and staked claim to form the government. On Wednesday, many more leaders can also take oath as ministers along with Naidu.
Amravati will be the only capital
Naidu announced a day before the swearing-in that Amaravati will be the only capital of the state. During the NDA legislative party meeting, he also said that he has sought support from the central government for the southern state and he has also got assurance of it.
TDP got tremendous support
In the assembly elections held in Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party led by Chandrababu Naidu became the largest party by winning 135 out of 175 seats in the state. In the elections, Pawan Kalyan's Janasena Party has won 21 seats and BJP has also won eight seats. Jaganmohan Reddy's party YSRCP has been reduced to just 11 seats. In the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, TDP, Janasena, and BJP contested the elections by allying.
