Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Moonis Elahi wrote on Twitter, "If Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has any courage, he should take immediate action against Mohsin Naqvi. This man has completely ruined Pakistan cricket in such a short time." Elahi also said that Naqvi's removal is necessary because his decisions have weakened the team's strength.

Former Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair also targeted Naqvi. He alleged that Naqvi excluded Pakistan's best players from the team.
