Omicron threat: BJP said - we will accept every decision of the Election Commission, are ready for virtual rallies

The rise in the cases of Omicron, a new variant of the coronavirus in the country, has created confusion regarding the upcoming assembly elections. Political parties are holding rallies because of next year's assembly elections in five states of the country amid rising cases of coronavirus. After the appeal of the Allahabad High Court to postpone the election, the churning of the Election Commission is going on. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party has put forth its view regarding Omicron.

 

 

Shekhawat said we will obey the instructions of the Election Commission

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has said that we will follow the guidelines given by the Election Commission on election rallies. BJP is ready for virtual election rallies. We did virtual election rallies during the West Bengal elections.

 

 

According to news agency ANI, Shekhawat said that the Election Commission is in talks with the Health Secretary and experts. It is the job of the Election Commission to decide how, when and with what policies and restrictions there will be. The decision of the commission will be binding on all the parties. He said that even during Covid-19 when all the political parties of the world were in hibernation, BJP workers and all the party people were working on the virtual platform.

 

Corona rules flouted in UP

The round of rallies of leaders has also started in Uttar Pradesh. Huge crowds are gathering in these rallies and Covid protocol is being violated. Be it Congress, BJP, or Samajwadi Party, people are not even following the conditions like social distancing and applying masks in the rallies of all the parties. Let us inform you that in Uttar Pradesh, less than 30 percent of the population has received both vaccines. UP was one of the worst affected states during the second wave of the coronavirus. The pictures of bodies buried on the banks of the Ganges and floating in the river have made a lot of headlines.

 

High Court had appealed to postpone the election

Last week, the Allahabad High Court had requested the Election Commission and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to postpone the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections by a month or two and ban election-related gatherings, citing a second wave. The judge said the UP Gram Panchayat elections and the Bengal Assembly elections have infected many people, leading to many deaths. If the rallies are not stopped, the results will be worse than the second wave.
