Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut termed the summons issued to him by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the money laundering case as a "conspiracy". He said that even if he is killed, he will not take the Guwahati route like the rebel MLAs of Maharashtra. Raut tweeted, "I have just learned that ED has sent me notice. Big developments are happening in Maharashtra. We are all Shiv Sainiks of Balasaheb. This is a conspiracy. Even if my head is beheaded," Raut tweeted. But I will not take the Guwahati route."
Sanjay Raut said, "I am in Saamana's office. Notice can't come here. The kind of political situation, I knew would happen. But you give as much trouble as you want, whether you want to hang or beheaded." "I am not going to Guwahati. I will stand with Balasaheb's Shiv Sena till my last breath. Even if you shoot me, I have a meeting in Alibaug. I will go to the ED's office. I am not going to run away."
Summoned for questioning on Tuesday
The ED on Tuesday summoned Raut for questioning in connection with its probe into an alleged money laundering case related to the redevelopment of a 'chawl' in Mumbai, officials said. The summon has been issued at a time when the Shiv Sena is battling a rebellion by a section of its MLAs. These MLAs are camping in Guwahati. His rebellion has put the future of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra in question.
'Summons sent to scare brother'
Shiv Sena spokesperson made this tweet in Marathi language and tagged Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis in it. Raut also challenged the ED to arrest him. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP's MLA brother Sunil Raut claimed that the ED summons was to intimidate his brother as he is opposing the BJP.
