'Wanted to bring TTP members back to the country'

Pakistan Muslim League leader and minister Peerzada said former Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) retired Lt Gen Faiz Hameed wanted to bring TTP members back to the country, Dawn newspaper reported. According to Dawn, the minister's statement comes a day after PTI leader Shirin Mazari made the claim.

 

Muslim League leader's big claim

Peerzada, speaking to Nadir Gurmani on Dawn News TV, claimed that during an in-camera briefing, army generals had proposed to bring TTP back to Pakistan. However, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif talked about it. He said that TTP has killed many popular leaders including Benazir Bhutto. According to Peerzada, the suggestion to bring TTP back to the country was made by General Faiz at this time.

 

Imran Khan did not have this idea

According to Dawn, Peerzada also rejected the claim that the resettlement was the idea of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Dawn newspaper reported that PTI chief Imran Khan recently blamed the negligence of Pakistan's security forces and intelligence agencies for the rising incidents of terrorism in the country.
