The Supreme Court of Pakistan will hear today in the National Assembly against the decision of the Deputy Speaker to reject the no-confidence motion moved by the opposition and dissolve the cabinet. The court has taken suo moto cognizance in this matter. The matter will be heard by a three-member bench comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandiyal, Justice Ijazul Ahsan, and Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar. Chief Justice Bandiyal had said yesterday that whether the PM or the President, everyone's orders come in the category under consideration for the court. The opposition had also moved the Supreme Court yesterday in this matter. Pakistan's newspaper Dawn quoted legal experts as saying that until the Supreme Court's decision in this matter is not received, the position of the National Assembly will remain the same.
The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly rejected the no-confidence motion moved by the opposition citing Article 5 of the Constitution. He said that foreign powers do not have the right to do such acts in Pakistan in collaboration with the opposition. The entire incident has angered the opposition. Immediately after the decision of the Deputy Speaker, President Arif Alvi on the advice of Prime Minister Imran Khan dissolved the National Assembly. Now elections will be held in the country within three months. The opposition has called Imran Khan a traitor. After the decision of this deputy speaker on Sunday, there was a lot of uproar in the National Assembly.

Imran said in his address that on his advice the President dissolved the assembly. Now elections will be held again. He also termed the no-confidence motion a foreign conspiracy.
